2000 to 2020 : Sean Paul equals « Hits & Hits & Hits »
Sean Paul, who has sold over 10 Million albums worldwide since bursting onto the scene in 2000 with Stage One, has spent the past year working on his long awaited follow up to his 2009 Grammy nominated album “Imperial Blaze” which featured the hit single “So Fine.” “Tomahawk Technique” showcases a modified direction for Sean, who challenged his new producers to submit their interpretations of a dancehall beat while keeping the global pop sound they are known for.
Jamaican superstar Sean Paul released “Tomahawk Technique,” in February of 2012. Continuing Sean’s history of crafting hit records, the album is anchored by Sean’s current smash single, “Got 2 Luv U” ft. Alexis Jordan, which has become a Top Ten hit in eight countries, reaching Number One in France and receiving Gold or Platinum status in five, as well as his most recent release, the infectious anthem, “She Doesn’t Mind.” The collection will feature an appearance by Kelly Rowland as well as production from industry heavyweights like Benny Blanco (Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Wiz Khalifa, Ke$ha), Rico Love (Natasha Bedingfield, Nelly, Diddy, Usher) and Stargate (Rihanna, Ne-Yo, Chris Brown).

After a brief hiatus from performing, Sean Paul came back onto the scene with an international summer tour visiting Portugal, Rome, Naples, Cape Verde, Ibiza, Germany, London (for the One Love Peace Festival), Bristol, South Cyprus and Canada. Never one to stay inactive, Sean will begin touring in support of the new album in December in the United States and Across Europe.

“Tomahawk Technique” is the next step in Sean’s continual pop dominance and follows in the footsteps of his classic albums that also include the multi-platinum, Grammy-winning Dutty Rock, which featured his breakout hit “Gimme The Light” and the platinum smash The Trinity, which was highlighted by the Top 10 single “We Be Burnin’” and the #1 hit “Temperature.” With an undeniable track record for crafting hit singles as a solo artist, including cuts like “Deport Them,” “Like Glue,” “Give It Up To Me” and “Get Busy,” as well as a history of taking other artists’ songs to the next level through tracks like Beyonce’s “Baby Boy,” Jay Sean’s “Do You Remember” and Blue Cantrell’s “Breathe,” Sean Paul has established himself as one of the seminal pop voices of his generation.
That dominance is not to be kept without a great deal of work. Featuring after featuring, Sean Paul appears here and there in « Bailando » by Enrique Iglesias. he also gets into electronic music initiatives, such as the « Apocalypse Soon » EP by Major Lazer. The track developed by the band in collaboration with Sean Paul is titled « Come On To Me » and is the second single of the album.
But when Sean Paul thinks « work », he also creates on his very own of course. The artist thus released « Take It Low » music video, from his album « Full Frequency » on July 6, 2015.
Featurings remain the key for Sean Paul in the following years as he gets on-board for several hit singles with Australian singer Sia, Little Mix and, later on, Clean Bandit.
Signing a fresh start with Island Records in June 2016, he releases the first single from « Mad Love The Prequel »: « No Lie », featuring Dua Lipa.
Getting recognition from the Jamaican government for his music work so far and the role it has been playing for promoting reggae music, he received on October 21, 2019 the Order of Distinction.
Finally, keeping himself busy, Sean Paul still gets full hands these days, as his appearance in the hip hop freestyle TV show « Wild N’ Out » proves.
