Biography

Arcángel, born Austin Agustín Santos on December 24, 1985 in New York, is a reggaeton singer of Puerto Rican and Dominican origins. He moved to Puerto Rico in 2002, where he met Rafael Castillo, with whom he formed the duo Arcángel y De la Ghetto and met his first successes with the tracks Sorpresa and Mi fanátic.

In 2007, Arcángel embarked on a solo career and recorded his first solo tracks. He roses to fame with his track Chica Virtual, released on the mixtape Flow la Discoteka 2 and enters the Billboard charts for the first time.

In 2008, the artist released the digital album La Maravilla and his first record El Fenómeno, which includes the tracks Demente bailando and Por amar a ciegas, which triumphed on American and Puerto Rican radio.

Since then, the artist has released 6 new albums and has built a reputation for himself by collaborating with heavyweights of the rap and reggaeton scene. He regularly appears alongside Myke Tower, Farruko and J Balvin to name but a few.

Arcángel, né Austin Agustín Santos le 24 décembre 1985 à New-York, est un chanteur de reggaeton d’origine portoricaine et dominicaine. En 2002, il s’établit à Porto Rico, l’épicentre du reggaeton, où il rencontre Rafael Castillo avec qui il forme le duo Arcángel y De la Ghetto et remporte ses premiers succès avec les titres Sorpresa et Mi fanátic.

En 2007 Arcángel se lance dans une carrière solo et enregistre ses premières tracks en solitaire. Il rencontre son premier succès avec son titre Chica Virtual sortit sur la mixtape Flow la Discoteka 2, et entre pour la première fois dans les classements Billboard.

En 2008, l’artiste sort l’album numérique La Maravilla et son premier disque El Fenómeno dont sont issus ses titres Demente bailando et Por amar a ciegas, qui connaîtront un franc succès sur les radio underground américaines et portoricaines.

Depuis, l’artiste a sorti 6 nouveaux albums et s’est taillé une réputation en collaborant avec des poids lourds de la scène rap et reggaeton. Il apparaît notamment régulièrement aux côtés de Myke Tower, Farruko ou J Balvin pour ne citer que ses collaborations les plus importantes.
