Biography

William Grigahcine, known professionally as DJ SNAKE, is a French DJ, composer and producer born on June 13, 1986 in Paris.

Between 2011 and 2013, he produced the album Born This Way by Lady Gaga, including the song Government Hooker. He also composed and produced three songs on Lady Gaga’s album Artpop: Applause, Sexxx Dreams and Do What U Want.

In 2013, the DJ made his international debut with singles like Bird Machine and Turn Down for What. Bird Machine is a collaboration with french musician, Alesia. The single was picked up by Mad Decent, a Los Angeles-based label run by Diplo. In June, DJ Snake is invited by Diplo to do a live mix on his radio show, Diplo & Friends, broadcast on BBC Radio 1.

In 2014, he was named an « artist to watch » by FoxWeekly. He was able to participate in Skrillex’s Mothership Tour as an opening act alternating with other artists such as Dillon Francis.

In 2015, DJ Snake released the single Lean On in collaboration with MØ and Major Lazer.

In 2016, the French DJ released his first album, Encore, a worldwide hit, including his singles Middle and Let Me Love You. Other singles are extracted from it: Propaganda, Talk, The Half.

In 2019, his second album, Carte Blanche, was a commercial success worldwide, including Magenta Riddim and Loco Contigo. Other singles will be extracted from this project : Taki Taki, Fuego, Made in France.

In 2020, a deluxe version of this album was released, with 14 additional tracks and in February of the same year, DJ Snake made more than 40,000 people dance during a live show at the Paris la Défense Arena. The artist does not hesitate to put himself on stage on a platform, in height but also in front of a gigantic decor of the Arc de Triomphe. He offers to his fans the broadcasting of this new concert, in the cinema, at the end of August.

In July, the musician made his comeback with the hit « Trust Nobody ». He also became a regular at the NRJ Music Awards, in December 2020, after winning the trophy of « DJ of the Year » for the third time in his career.

En juillet, le musicien fait son grand retour avec le tube « Trust Nobody ». Il devient également un habitué des NRJ Music Awards, en décembre 2020, après avoir remporté le trophée du « DJ de l’année » pour la troisième fois de sa carrière.
