Biography

Delroy « Junior » Reid is a Jamaican reggae and dancehall musician, known for songs like « One Blood » and « This is why im hot », as well as being the man who replaced Michael Rose as Black Uhuru’s vocalist.

Reid was born in the Tower Hill area of Kingston, it was there, in the late 70’s that he recorded his first single « Speak the Truth » at the age of 13.

In the early 80’s, commissioned by Sugar Minott he recorded a few songs for Minotts Youth Promotion, enjoying great popularity with songs such as « Human Nature », « Lover A1 », and the perennial « Foreign Mind », a statement that became an anthem for the ghetto youth whom Reid increasingly defended.

Reid has his own production company: JR Productions. Reid has collaborated and produced for Ninjaman, since the early 90s. He has also produced for Junior Demus, Dennis Brown and Gregory Isaacs.

Delroy « Junior » Reid est un musicien jamaïcain de reggae et de dancehall, célèbre pour les chansons « One Blood » et « This is why im hot », mais également pour être celui qui a succédé à Michael Rose comme leader du groupe Black Uhuru.

Reid est né dans le quartier Tower Hill de Kingston, et c’est là, à la fin des années 1970, qu’il a enregistré son premier single « Speak the Truth » alors âgé de 13 ans.
