Kalash – Booking

Kalash, whose real name is Kevin Valleray, was born in France but spent his childhood in Fort-de-France, Martinique where his father taught philosophy. With his family entourage, he is quickly immersed in a strong religious feeling.  

He is interested in music too, with various influences, Jamaican – with reggae and Bob Marley, Caribbean, but also pop with Michael Jackson.  

Kalash is a dancehall reggae singer who started in the underground sound-systems in 2003 and participated in various compilations such as Manibians Attack (2005), Executive Riddim (2006) and Maximum Dammage (2007) which allowed him to build his reputation as a comfortable artist both in the studio and live on stage. 

In 2010, he released his first album with Daddy Mory, Paille and Saël on productions by DJ Gil, DJ Traxx, DJ Blue and Kross D. In 2012, Kalash went on tour while continuing to release singles and mixtapes.

In 2014, Kalash and Admiral T are indicted for violence against police officers. Judged, they are finally released under judicial supervision.  

The following year, in 2015, the single Bando with a gangsta rap atmosphere, meets with great success, and attracts the attention of Booba who put Kalash on the metropolitan scene. In 2016, the third album Kaos marks the singer’s rapprochement with more rap influences. With tracks like Rouge et Bleu, on which Booba is invited, for example. He is rewarded with a gold record for this track. A few months later, Kalash is unfortunately convicted for possession of a weapon. In 2017, he returned to the studios, for the recording of his fourth album Mwaka Moon, on which we find Damso, Niska, Lacrim, Vybz Kartel and Mavado.

The 4th track of the album featuring the artist Damso meets a great success upon its release, remaining 9 weeks the most streamed track in France, and is certified diamond single less than 3 months after its release.

Kalash, de son vrai nom Kevin Valleray, est né en France mais passe son enfance à Fort-de-France, en Martinique où son père enseigne la philosophie. Avec son entourage familial, il est rapidement plongé dans un fort sentiment religieux.  

Il s’intéresse à la musique très trop, avec diverses influences, jamaïcaines – avec le reggae et Bob Marley, caribéennes, mais aussi pop avec Michael Jackson.  

Kalash est un chanteur de reggae dancehall qui débute dans les sound-system underground dès 2003 et participe à différentes compilations comme, Manibians Attack (2005), Executive Riddim (2006) et Maximum Dammage (2007) ce qui lui a permis de bâtir sa réputation d’artiste à l’aise tant en studio qu’en live sur scène. 

En 2010, il sort son premier album accompagné de Daddy Mory, Paille et Saël sur des productions de DJ Gil, DJ Traxx, DJ Blue et Kross D. En 2012, Kalash part en tournée tout en continuant les sorties de singles et mixtapes.

En 2014, Kalash et Admiral T sont mis en examen pour violences sur des policiers. Jugés, ils sont finalement libérés sous contrôle judiciaire.  

L’année suivante, en 2015, le single Bando à l’ambiance gangsta rap, rencontre un franc succès, et attire l’attention de Booba qui met en avant Kalash sur la scène métropolitaine. En 2016, le troisième album Kaos marque le rapprochement du chanteur avec des influences plus rap. Avec des titres comme Rouge et Bleu, sur lequel Booba est invité, par exemple, il est récompensé par un disque d’or. Quelques mois plus tard, Kalash est malheureusement condamné pour détention d’une arme. En 2017, il retrouve le chemin des studios, pour l’enregistrement de son quatrième album Mwaka Moon, sur lequel on retrouve Damso, Niska, Lacrim, Vybz Kartel et Mavado.

Le 4e morceau de l’album en featuring avec l’artiste Damso rencontre un grand succès dès sa sortie, il reste notamment 9 semaines le titre le plus streamé en France, est certifié single de diamant moins de 3 mois après sa sortie
