21 Savage, whose real name is Sheyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, was born in Newham, England, and raised on the East Side of Atlanta. 21 Savage came from a background of poverty, crime and violence. At age 7, he moved to the United States with his mother.

He gained popularity in 2016 with the track Red Opps, and became globally known with his single No Heart accumulating over 100 million views on YouTube in a few months.

21 Savage released his first mixtape The Slaughter Tape on May 25, 2015. On July 2, 2015, 21 Savage released the EP Free Guwop. On December 1, 2015 his second mixtape Slaughter King was released.

21 Savage is then named in the XXL Freshman Class 2016.

On July 15, 2016, 21 Savage released his second EP Savage Mode in collab with St. Louis Beatmaker / Producer Metro Boomin. The EP contains the bangers No Heart and X having reached #43 and #36 on the Billboard Hot 100 respectively.

21 Savage has partnered with Epic Records, a label owned by Sony Music Entertainment.

He was featured in November 2016 by Drake on the track Sneakin’

His debut studio album, Issa Album, was released on July 7, 2017. Bank Account, the album’s major track, was certified platinum in September of the same year.

He released the hit song Rockstar featuring Post Malone on September 15, 2017. The track is a direct hit, reaching #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

His second studio album I Am > I Was has made big noise in the hip-hop community. It debuted at the top of the charts, as did his latest project, it went platinum the same year in 2020. The track « A Lot » with J. Cole was an international hit.

Savage mode 2 is his second project with producer Metro Boomin, released on October 2, 2020 and previewed via a trailer with narration by Morgan Freeman.

Her Loss, a collaborative project between Atlanta MC 21 Savage and Canadian rapper Drake, is out November 4, 2022 via OVO Sound, Republic Records, Slaughter Gang Entertainment and Epic Records.
