Offset, one-third of the rap group Migos, is a rapper whose quick rhymes and penchant for heckling and clever wordplay made him a fan favorite as the trap trio climbed the hip-hop charts.
After his breakthrough with Migos, he struck out on his own as a solo artist, collaborating with several artists and hitting chart highs in 2018 with Tyga (« Taste ») and Kodak Black (« Zeze »). In early 2019, he released his debut album » Father of 4, » which spawned the Grammy-nominated single « Clout ». Migos’ Culture III was released in 2021, and Offset released songs with IDK, Trippie Redd, Moneybagg Yo and others.
Offset was born Kiari Kendrell Cephus on December 14, 1991, in Lawrenceville, Georgia. After being abandoned by his father when he was young, Offset was raised by Quavo’s mother in a suburb of the city, where he spent his childhood with Quavo and his nephew Takeoff. The three formed a hip-hop group called Polo Club in 2008 before changing their name to Migos because they thought Polo Club was too generic.
His personal life was put on the spotlight when he began dating rapper Cardi B in 2017. Even though they already got married privately in September, Offset still staged a public proposal for the female emcee in October of that year.
The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Kulture Kiari Cephus, on July 10, 2018.
Le 22 février 2019, Offset releases his first solo album, Father of 4, on February 22, 2019, promoted with the single Red Room. The album is the best-received of the Migos’ three solo projects, debuted at number four in the Top 200 Billboard charts and spent another week in the Top Ten. The following year, the Cardi B-featuring single « Clout » was nominated for a Grammy Award. In 2021, Offset and Migos returned with Culture III, while the rapper teamed with Trippie Redd, Lil Durk, Kevin Gates, and King Von for the all-star single « Hit Em Hard » from the Fast & Furious 9 soundtrack. Offset hit the charts with the 2022 singles « Big 14 » (with Trippie Redd and Moneybagg Yo), « 54321, » and « Code » (with Moneybagg Yo).
